What you need to know

What is the Danish citizenship test?

Indfødsretsprøven (the Danish citizenship test) is one of the requirements when you apply for Danish citizenship (naturalisation). The test checks your knowledge of Danish society, Danish culture and history, and danske værdier (Danish values). It consists of 45 multiple-choice questions with 2-3 answer options, to be answered in 45 minutes — in Danish. There is no English version of the official test.

To pass, you need at least 36 correct out of 45 — and at the same time at least 4 of the 5 questions about Danish values (questions 41-45) correct. That means you can fail on the values questions alone, even with a strong overall score. 35 of the questions are based on SIRI's official læremateriale (official study material), 5 are about current affairs, and 5 are about Danish values. SIRI is the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration.

Honestly

Our questions are our own — and we say so out loud

All our questions are our own formulations in the same format as the real exam, fact-checked against official sources: SIRI's læremateriale and the published past test sets. We are not affiliated with any authority.

SIRI publishes the official material for free — you can always use it. Our value is in the training itself: instant feedback, explanations in your language, a simulator with the real pass rules and repetition of your mistakes. Not in secret content.

Tips that work

Study smart — not long

01

A little every day

15 minutes a day beats long marathon evenings. Short, frequent rounds stick best in your memory.

02

Take the values questions seriously

Questions 41-45 about Danish values can fail you on their own — you need at least 4 of 5 correct, whatever your overall score.

03

Practise under time pressure

45 minutes goes fast. Run the simulator with the real clock so test day feels like a repeat — not a surprise.

04

Review your mistakes

Most of the points are hiding in what you already got wrong. Go back — smart practice does it for you automatically.

One price. Everything included.

The test fee is 946 kr. per attempt, and the test is only held twice a year. Good preparation is cheap insurance.
